The Porsche Club Mexico celebrated the very first Porsche Parade in Mexico's history. The Porsche Parade Mexico 2006 was a true success with an overwhelming participation of over 200 Porsche cars. The largest Porsche gathering in Latin America.
Let's check out the action...
The first meet point was the National Auditorium in Mexico City. Upon arrival I found over 140 Porsche cars already parked. Coming down from Puebla made me gas up before arrival thus arriving 10 minutes late. The overwhelming amount of Porsche cars did not permit me to join the mid engine group my Boxster was assigned to, so I parked with the 996/997 group. Not many photos from this point since I was busy getting registered and saying hi to everyone, but I manage these few shots...
The PLA Group...
Around the shiny 550 Spyder winner of the 1954 Carrera Panamericana, we found the Porsche Latinamerica guys.
From L to R: Kolja Kyofsky, Dr. Thomas Staertzel, Klaus Bischof (Porsche Museum) and Ragnar Schulte.
The 550 Spyder was the leader for the Parade to the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez... nice photo...
Starting formation...
...walking back to our car we saw our good friend Alex Segui ready for the Parade to the Autodromo with the 80's 911 group... Alex's 911 sporting the only set of Ruf wheels in the entire parade, I love the original Ruf wheels... ...Mary hurries to the car too... good girl... our group is already lined up and ready... hurry!!!
On the way to the Autodromo...
...driving with the 996/997 group was fun... here tucked behind a 997, je, je, je...
... entering the Autodromo...
... color coded Guards Red Porsches enter the Autodromo...
Feeding the pits...
Upon arrival Porsche cars fed the pits... I was there trying to catch as much action as possible...
...a tremendous gathering...
The 550 Spyder occupied a special place in front of the podium...
Welcoming words...
From L to R: Klaus Bischof from the Porsche Museum, Dr. Thomas Staertzel from PLA, Fernando Flores Beristain from PdM and Manuel Robles Gil, President of the Porsche Club Mexico.
Parade Laps...
...as continuation of the Parade from the National Auditorium we did some Parade Laps around the track...

... my view on the track...
Leading the Parade Laps was the 550 Spyder... Dr. Thomas Staertzel enjoys the ride, Klaus Bischof drives...
1 km. of Porsche cars...
We parked on single file on the front straight... over 1 km. of Porsche cars... now this is what I call "traffic"!!!
911's showed up in great numbers... here the classic 911 group... lets see what else showed up...
356's A-plenty... all types of 356 cars showed up, restored and unrestored all shined alike...
The 914 group was led by past PCM President, Jorge Rios Hellig... proud 914 owner...
Modded RS was within the shiny classic 911 group...
Farben Motors fusion 911 combined an early 80's chassis with 70's IROC looks and late BBS LM's in 18 inch... chrome H4 bezels and chrome windshield surround add to the fusion recipe... as always... brilliant work from Farben Motors...
In the modern 911 group we catched this rare 996 GT3 RS with blue livery... amazing !!!
This Carrera 4 996 narrow displayed subtle TechArt aerokit I with Daytona multipiece wheels... add Lapis Blue to the equation and this is a quite unique Porsche...
Leading the 986 Boxster group was yours truly, with the only hard top in the entire Boxster 986/987 group... here sandwiched by two Factory 997TT's in the Parade Laps...
In the 987 Boxster group we found this high spec'd and modded example, CGT Silver with Terra don't come cheap... full TechArt mods complete the package...
Caymans showed up in very respectable numbers... certainly the best looking Cayman in the group was this TechArt equipped example...
The fairly new Cayenne was well present in the event... here leading in the fast laps....
Last but ceratinly not least...
actually very first... the 550 Spyder and CGT had special parking.... tremendous pieces...
Fast laps...
Owners had the chance to drive their Porsches as intended... fast... very fast...
997's going at it...
Jose Hurtado leading a 997 with his Guards Red 996TT...
The 955 Cayenne S lapping fast...
The 996 C4 Narrow TechArt was pushing hard every lap...
Factory 997TT amazingly fast...
The Porsche Parade Mexico was a tremendous success. Overwhelming participation, precise and impecable organization and great weather helped to the success recipe of this, the first Porsche Parade in Mexico.
