Newsletter 31 Porsche Classic Show by The Porsche Club Mexico
The Porsche Club Mexico celebrated its annual Porsche Classic Show at a new venue, this time at the Banamex Centre in Mexico City. With over 400 vehicles at the show and the monumental view of the Centre from the Race Track's infield the event was a true success.

Let's check out the event...
Inaugural Ceremony...
Late morning the event started with a well deserved homage to Mexico's best drivers, Pedro and Ricardo Rodriguez. For such special occasion the Porsche Museum brought over the very Porsche 908 that was driven by Pedro Rodriguez to many victories.
The Event...
The Start...
Huge event ahead of us... over 400 very interesting vehicles to see... let's go !!!
The Porsche Club Mexico had all Porsche cars lined up in chronological order in two sets at the infield... of course we started with the 356's !!!
The lesser Porsches...
914's showed up in force for the event... many good examples shown...
Rare 944 showed up to complete the lesser Porsche display... the 944 was not sold in Mexico, at the time imported cars were banned... the poor man's Porsche in all its glory...
The High End Porsches...
The Carrera GT, without a doubt the best supercar for the money... no words needed to describe it, right?
The 997TT, the most powerful Turbo to date... need to say more? I didn't think so...
The Sport Porsches...
It doesn't get any sportier than an RS GT3 in blue livery, right?  my goodness...
MkI 996 GT3... simply astonishing...
...rear ends ...
Of course we had to check these babies backs... simply amazing...
the infamous banana rear wing... such a classic now...
...more Sport Porsches ...
The 996 GT2 was the first Porsche with PCCB's as standard equipment...
The 962 is, in my book, the greatest race car in endurance racing...
New Targa Presentation...
By midday we headed to the Porsche de Mexico camp for the new Targa presentation...
The new Targa now sits on a wide body and incorporated all wheel drive technology... a Targa's first...
Sharp edge rear window appears again for the 3rd time, repeating from the 993 and 996 Targas now with stainless steel molding on top...
Skydriving... retractable glass roof will make your al fresco driving enjoyable and keep you safe from the elements when needed... the Targa is all sophistication...
we continued...
We encounter a myriad of 911's at the second exhibit set of the Porsche Club Mexico, but we had to keep order... so...
356's
As in the first set Porsches were lined up chronologically... we started with some interesting 356's... in Speedster form...
and coupe...
911's
We have arrived to my favorite Porsche of the entire PCM... the entire concept of an RS replica in black makes me salivate...
Porsche de Mexico...
Porsche de Mexico had a great exhibit with the entire Porsche line-up, also good news, Porsche Selection articles are now available at the dealers !!! hurry they are going fast !!!
A special Turbo...
This is a very special Turbo, all I can say its mods already started...
Porsche Museum AG...
The Porsche Museum Germany had its own exhibit with 3 memorable Racing Porsches. The 1998 GT1 winner of Lemans looked astonishing !!! also shown the 908 of Pedro Rodriguez and the 550 Spyder winner of the 1954 Panamericana... good effort by the Porsche Museum !!!
correct silver color is always good...
... pastels from the era look good too...
...here sporting its race set up comprised of "17 fabricated Fuchs and race DOT tires... for street it seats on correct "16 Fuchs...
...rear end is perfect too... just one complaint... later added faux carbon "Carrera" logo license plate holder is a tad out of place for such well executed classic 911...
last photo of my favorite 911...
...later in the day we shared a good time at the "exotics" exhibit... also Jaguar, Mercedes as well as the Mustang Club had excellent exhibits...
after all an excellent day watching cars....
