Newsletter 49 Porsche World Road Show Mexico 2008
The Porsche World Road Show arrived to Mexico for the fourth time thanks in part to the commitment that Porsche de Mexico has to its customers and prospects.

As usual an impeccable organization, a world class facility and 20 very fast Porsches made of this event a true Porsche-A-Thon...
Let's check out the action...
Andreas Jessa...
After a small gourmet breakfast we proceeded to the initial instruction...
Braking...
Our very first test was Braking... the first thing our instructor said was: "everyone knows how to accelerate but no one knows how to brake" even if I wouldn't take that far I have to admit that most people don't know the braking potential in their own vehicles and if we were to handle 20 very fast Porsches the Braking Test seemed logical...
With the Braking issue out of the way it was time to take the Porsches out on the road... I have to admit that Porsche is very brave in this very test, taking their cars out on less than desirable Mexican roads with strangers at the wheel... mmmhhhh... yet the Porsche cars shine for its durability, driveability and pure power...
With the arrival of the Cayenne the parameters of testing changed at Porsche and now an Off Road test is offered on regular basis... going into deep water is an essential part of the test and the Cayenne endures it with pride... amazing capabilities displayed by the Porsche Cayenne...
The 45 degree drop is quite exciting... even more when the instructor shouts to leave the brake alone... the Porsche Cayenne takes over with its Hill Decent Control and pours down the slide like a little kitty... amazing!!!
The Guards Red Boxster S with front splitter was a real joy to drive in the 2.3 km course...
The 911... don't have to add much more yet the new 997 is a gem... sporty, aggressive, fast... no one touches the 911...
We found Fernando Bayo with a permagrin after driving the 997 Carrera S...
We took the instructors up and down as passengers all day, now it was time for us to be passengers and see how Porsche behave at full potential... very fast 997 Turbo...
997 Carrera S... superb...
The Porsche World Road Show is a tremendous event where customers and prospects have the opportunity to enjoy the entire Porsche lineup in an ambiance of luxury. Porsche de Mexico had a superb organization through out the entire event, luxury and detail was always attended.

I would like to thank Porsche de Mexico for the invite, it sure was fun to drive all 20 Porsches in one day and find out once again why we love the brand. Thanks Fernando and Andreas.

Very deep fog gave us the opportunity for some superb shots... menacing black 997 Carrera S with AeroKit... whoa!!! good start!!!
No less than 20 very fast Porsches composed the welcoming committee... yet another tremendous shot...
The new Marketing Director at Porsche de Mexico, Andreas Jessa, was in charge of welcoming participants...
The Porsche World Road Show Mexico 2008 starts... beautiful day and tremendous facility in the back...
The Turbo was an astounding candidate for the Braking Test... PCCB's proved to be phenomenal...
We did the Braking Test, the  Road Test and Off Road Test now it was time for Porsche to test our own driving abilities against the clock in an Slalom Competition... Porsche chose its most neutral handling vehicle the Cayman S for such test... missing one cone made us miss the opportunity for the nice trophies Porsche had in hand for us... The Cayman S displayed a tremendous neutral handling inherent of its mid engine architecture, excellent brakes and beautiful shape adds a lot of allure to the package... The Cayman S, a true Porsche!!!
The Handling Test used a 2.3 km course were long as well as very tight corners were on hand to test the handling of the Porsche cars... as purist the Cayenne brings little allure when it comes to track driving yet the new GTS displays some very desirable capabilities... and, oh yes, the thick steering wheel is pure joy... one side note to Porsche... everyone, listen Porsche, everyone, wants a thick steering wheel in a sports car, thus making the "thick" (which is not too thick in my book to start with) steering wheel an optional extra is to us enthusiasts redundant and somewhat idiotic as we have to pay extra for something that should be there to start with... thankfully the GTS brings the thick steering wheel standard and thus a real joy to drive... handling is well above any SUV with power to match... the GTS is astonishing...
