Newsletter 66 GT3 photoshoot
The new Porsche 997 GT3 MkII is finally out and as we can see Porsche didn't hold back bringing the best racing technology to its eager customers.

I personally believe that when Porsche engineers get to work they can bring the very best out as it is proven in the new GT3 and the upcoming Carrera Sport Classic.

Also, I believe Porsche should focus on the enthusiast customer as in this difficult times, the enthusiast will be the customer making the extra effort to attain a new Porsche.

It seems Porsche is quickly catching up to my theories and bringing the big guns out as it is well seen in this new GT3...
Let's check it out...
Leader of the pack...
Finally, mesh grilles... any 986, 996, 987 or 997 owner knows the pain of having exposed radiators yet it seems Porsche only realized it after all these years... the exposed radiators caused many problems, from caught debris to serious early corrosion and of course damaged radiators... so this new mesh grilles are a blessing for new owners...
The new GT3 wheels look amazing without a doubt but as always at Porsche things go beyond looks, they are ultralightweight... center lock look the part as it also saves tons of weight, well not tons but various grams certainly... a word of advice for Mexican owners, get yourself at least one rear and one front extra wheel with its respective tires as you won't find an easy repair in case of a blown out and/or a broken wheel... and don't worry on where the heck are you going to keep those extra wheels, they make up for great conversation starters if you simply hang them on your living room and at the end they are pieces of art... at least to me they are!!!
This one is ready for the track and with TrackDaysMexico is easy to jump in to your new GT3 and enjoy the track so follow our events at:

All 911...
Baby got lip...
Floating discs...
All business...
Mesh...
Ultralightweight...
Its all business in here, no distracting gizmos on the steering wheel, no shiny useless moldings, when it comes down to business and our business is the track or the road at high speeds nothing covers the ticket like lightweight alcantara... once again Porsche engineers at work because the shifter or should I say shifting action in this new GT3 is well beyond amazing, precise, short, well, divine!!! Once I thought my B&M was the part, this was until I tried this new GT3 shifter, I said once and I say it again, Porsche engineers at work, they can make it happen... now I hope they make it happen in the entire lineup... or don't... I'm all GT3 anyway!!!
MkII...
Most Porsche engineers may also pursue a dietitian career as they know how to save weight without a compromise... the GT3 is in a serious weight control regimen as we can see in this photo...
Without a doubt the new GT3 is all 911...
MkII 997's are easily recognizable by its "new shape" LED taillights...
Without a doubt the new GT3 is the leader of the pack in any enthusiast's book, yet every Porsche offer singular performance, utility and of course, fun...
Floating discs have been around for a while yet not on a Porsche, aside PCCB's of course that carry a multi piece disc, but finally they make into production cars... of course Brembo must be holding on to those multi piece lightweight discs in case you want to attack the track in the purpose built new GT3... as for starters these are some good damn brakes in my view... PCCB's optional but only recommended to those into long GT driving stints... for track still steel discs offer more flexibility and tuneability...
Of course the GT3 comes equipped with Michelin Cups, ready for that vigorous Grand Touring drive or the awaiting Track Day in any case you will find the performance out of the Michelin Cups amazing...
Weight control...
Intricate lines...
The new rear wing offers some intricate lines... it offers more downforce and less drag... optimized aerodynamics... and we can go on but I'll just cut it short so you can enjoy the photos, the main purpose of this very page...
Porsche engineers didn't leave this one to a guess as they stamped the engine's capacity on the rear wing just in case there is a doubt what you are about to encounter... amazing engine response on the new GT3 we hope to catch the new GT3 on the go soon...
Thanks to Porsche Angelopolis...
When Porsche Angelopolis called me up and told me the first new GT3 had landed and that I could take some pics of it I didn't wait long to show up... what I found was this amazing special paint GT3... for starters the Carrera GT silver is outstanding specially in combination with the new wheel finish... with the camera out I had work really hard against the lighting conditions and backgrounds yet once I saw the photos I didn't want to leave anyone without enjoying them, at first I was only going to upload them but in the end as most of my reports I ended up writing too much, I hope you don't mind and still get to enjoy the pics, but this new GT3 is amazing and it deserved some writing... thanks to Porsche Angelopolis.
3.8...
Michelin Cup...
As said before, finally Porsche decided to bring it all out and it started with the front lip, its aggressive, carries flawless shape and finish and finally it doesn't look like a cheap add on... these are the type of things that should have had to be sorted out years ago... I believe Porsche noticed that many enthusiasts went to the aftermarket industry to cover for these "flaws" and now decided to cover for it... good Porsche, good!!!
