Newsletter 70 Porsche Sport Driving School Mexico 2009
Porsche de Mexico presented the Porsche Sport Driving School Mexico for the 5th consecutive year in our country. The PSDS has proven an essential tool for any Porsche owners who wants to extract all the performance out of his or her Porsche and for those who intent to drive his or her Porsche fast.
We at the Porsche Club Puebla and TrackDaysMexico seriously recommend the PSDS before attending our events as the PSDS will give you the basic skills to enter the track with confidence, yet is not merely intended for the novice driver only as the seasoned driver may pick up one or two good tricks out of the PSDS.
Once again the PSDS Mexico took place at the historic race track, The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City and as in Porsche fashion the school is not only displayed the highest of levels of luxury but also fun, but don't take from me and...

Once again Porsche de Mexico did a magnificent job bringing the Porsche Sport Driving School for 2009, definitively the most exciting driving school in Latinamerica. If you own a Porsche you own it to yourself to do the PSDS and learn how to extract all the performance out of your Porsche.
Here!!! Instructors perfectly marked each and every apex and showed students to turn in at it... quite important if you want to shave various tenths each lap around the track...
In, in...
It is important to be precise each and every time... the 997TT with its integral traction and myriad of aids is a quite a forgiving car, yet instructors want to extract every ounce of performance out of their students...
1 on 1...
After only a few passes students learn how to close in to the apex... and if you thought you needed a sport car to attain the speed, think again, the Cayenne here showed tremendous performance on the tarmac... for more photos of this exercise click on thumbs below:

This year instructors used the new Panamera to haul around the track... nice... here the Panamera @ Speed in much Porsche fashion...

As always my reports try cover as many aspects of the event as possible and perhaps this was the very best shot taken at registration... magnificent shot!!!

As always Porsche de Mexico left no single detail in the air... here our good friend Fernando Romo making sure everything is ready to start the event...
Ok, lets go!!!
Ok, time to start the event, lets go!!! The mere excitement of entering the track may take a smile or two from participants... this school is FUN!!!
On track...
Things start on the track... didn't I say this school is all fun!!! and it is...
Braking...
First things first, braking is an essential part of driving, Porsches are known for their high braking capabilities, learning on how to capitalize on this high performance braking is fundamental for good performance driving, thus the school start with very high performance braking exercises... they show you how its done and how to do it right...
Control...
The slalom exercise not only provides the very basics on car control but also chassis dynamics like mass transfer... this exercise does wonders with novice drivers and surprise more than one seasoned driver...
On track...
With the basic skills learned its now time to take students back on to the track and start doing some real turns...
The esses at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez are quite demanding and the perfect learning scenario...
Perfection may not be attained easily but is achievable through practice... perfect!!! perfect turn in, right on the apex and at very high speed...
Back on your own...
Now it was time to do it all over again but now on you own... lets go!!!

Lunch...
All this driving made us hungry... lunch was ready as always with Porsche this was a haute cuisine affair...
Tires...
The track is known for eating tires and this event is no exception... here the Panamera getting new tires before it hits the track again...
Skip pad...
Beyond car control, the skip pad is an extremely difficult exercise that will bring exceptional driving skills if one can accomplish it right...
Meanwhile...
...looks like fun and it is...
Since the skip pad is a one by one affair, students may increase their off road skills as well at the Cayenne track...
Full car control...
...or should I say full Porsche control... ok, we did the braking, the slalom, the apex thing and the skip pad... now it time to show the skills learned...

Fast Laps...
Well, after all the necessary skills were learned it was time for some fast laps using the entire Hermanos Rodriguez track... just look what we found doing some very fast laps, a Ruf 993TT no less, wow!!! lets take a look at this unique beauty, click on thumbs...
GT3...
Without a doubt the GT3 is the track weapon of choice for any seasoned driver... if you plan to attack the track a few times a year simply get a GT3 as it comes "track ready", simply amazing, really...
Panamera & 911...
Alike but not the same, both Porsche but with different intents... a rare opportunity to see both on the track and at speed...
Time to park the Porsches...
After many fast laps it came time to park the Porsches.... tremendous day!!! don't you think? but wait its not over yet...
Awards...
Instructors awarded the best drivers of the day as well as most improved drivers... Porsche leaves no detail unattended, everything is perfect, reason enough to buy a Porsche, take it to each and every event and enjoy it to the max!!!
